Terms & Conditions
Welcome to Makadal’Eau Boutique Resort, located in San Juan, Siquijor, Philippines. By making a reservation or staying at Makadal’Eau, you agree to the following terms and conditions.
1. Scope and Application
These Terms & Conditions apply to all reservations made directly through our official website or through third-party platforms (Airbnb, Booking.com…). In case of discrepancies, the conditions of the platform through which the booking was made will prevail.
2. Reservation and Application
✅ Direct bookings (via our website) require a 30% deposit at the time of booking to confirm the reservation.
✅ The remaining balance is payable upon arrival.
✅ Accepted payment methods: bank transfer, PayPal, Revolut, or GCash.
✅ Bookings via Airbnb or Booking.com are subject to the payment terms of the respective platforms.
All prices are quoted in Euros (EUR) and include applicable taxes unless otherwise stated.
3. Cancellations and refunds
✅ Direct bookings: The 30% deposit is non-refundable in case of cancellation, regardless of reason.
✅ Bookings via third-party platforms: Follow the cancellation policies defined by Airbnb or Booking.com.
✅ In case of “no show” without at least 72 hours prior notice, the full amount of the reservation may be charged. Late reservation (within 72 hours of arrival) are not eligible and the full amount of reservation may be charged.
4. Check-In & Check-Out
✅ Check-in: from 2:00 PM to 5:00 PM (flexible for late arrivals upon prior notification).
✅ Check-out: before 11:00 AM.
Guest wishing to extend their stay must inform reception in advance and are subject to room availability.
5. House Rules
To ensure the comfort and safety of all our guests, please observe the following rules:
✅ Adults-only – our resort is designed for guests 16 years and older.
✅ No smoking inside rooms or indoor areas.
✅ No pets allowed on the premises.
✅ Quiet hours: 10:00 PM – 8:00 AM.
✅ Please turn off air conditioning, fans, and lights when leaving the room.
✅ Towels and linens are for in-house use only; do not take them to the beach.
✅ Outside guests and loud events are not allowed.
✅ Cooking is not allowed in the rooms or within the resort.
✅ Respect the space – take care of furniture, linens, and equipment as if it were your own.
6. Pool Safety
Our pool has a maximum depth of 3 meters, primarily designed for diving training. Guests use the pool at their own risk.
✅ No lifeguard on duty.
✅ No diving unless properly trained.
✅ Running or rough play around the pool area is prohibited.
7. Environmental Responsability
Makadal’Eau operated with respect for the island and its natural surroundings. To protect our septci system and the local ecosystem:
✅ Please do not flush toilet paper, sanitary products, or other items down the toilet.
✅ Use the designated bins provided.
✅ Help us conserve energy by using air conditioning moderately.
Our resort is partly powered by solar energy, and we kindly ask guests to support our sustainability efforts.
8. Liability and Damages
Guests are responsible for any damage or loss caused to resort property during their stay.
Makadal’Eau assumes no liability for:
✅ Loss, theft, or damage of personal belongings.
✅ Accidents or injuries occuring due to negligence or non-compliance with safety rules.
Guests are encouraged to keep valuables in the room’s safe deposit box.
9. Force Majeure
Makadal’Eau shall not be held liable for cancellations, delays, or service disruptions caused by events beyond our control, including natural disasters, power outages, or government restrictions.
10. Governing Law
These Terms and Conditions are governed by the laws of the Republic of the Philippines.
Any disputes shall be resolved in the competent courts of Siquijor Province.
